Byron Street Apartments

The Byron Street Apartments are an interpretation of their context. Local building stock and history is translated as form and material to create a building both unique to its street and part of it. The resultant form uniquely negotiates the typical lot conditions of the area to increase amenity both to the site and the street.

The striking facade comprises of a bright green aluminium cladding paired with corrugated precast panels. The upper level is clad in profiled steel tray and cantilevers dramatically over the floor below. The building’s form naturally encloses its balconies.

The project will incorporate 10 generous apartments ranging from one bedroom through to the generous three bedroom top floor penthouse. This floor is set in from the boundary providing for views across Footscray towards Melbourne’s CBD.

With exceptional cross-ventilation, the building also includes solar initiatives and on-site water tanking for a greener footprint.
